On September 2, 2025, the U.S. Treasury Department unveiled an initial list of 68 professions eligible for the newly established "No Tax on Tips" deduction. This measure is a component of the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act," which became law on July 4, 2025, and affects federal income taxes from 2025 through 2028.

The deduction allows for up to $25,000 in qualifying tips per individual each year and is offered as a "below-the-line" deduction. This makes it available for those opting for the standard deduction without impacting the calculation of adjusted gross income (AGI).
